Editing / What it can cover

The edit decides what the viewer sees — and when.

01

Event Aftermovies

Highlights and longer event edits shaped around atmosphere, key moments, speakers, guests and the pace of the occasion.

02

Branded & Promotional Edits

Structured edits for campaigns, launches, products and businesses where pacing, music and message need to work together.

03

Interviews & Testimonials

Clear interview-led pieces built from selected answers, supporting footage and a structure that keeps the message concise.

04

Social Cutdowns

Shorter vertical or horizontal versions created from a main film or directly from source material for social channels.

05

Existing Footage

Post-production can begin with footage you already have, provided the material and brief are clear enough to build the required edit.

06

Multi-format Delivery

One edit can be adapted into different durations, aspect ratios and platform-ready versions when those outputs are part of the brief.

Post-production / Process

Built from the material, not a fixed template.

The structure depends on what was filmed, what the video needs to achieve and how the finished piece will be used. The process stays focused on the actual material rather than forcing every project into the same edit.

01 / Review

Review & organise.

Footage, audio, references and the brief are reviewed first so the strongest material and practical limits are clear before the edit takes shape.

02 / Edit

Shape the story.

Selection, pacing, structure, music and supporting footage are developed into a first version, then refined through agreed feedback.

03 / Finish

Finish & deliver.

Colour, sound, titles, captions and export settings are completed around the final destination of each version.

Formats / Deliverables

One timeline can become a full set of finished versions.

Not every project needs every format. The useful versions are planned around where the content will actually appear.

Live event footage

Existing footage / New productions

Post-production can start after the shoot — or with footage you already have.

Editing can be booked as part of a Chiv Visuals production or as a separate service. When the footage already exists, the first step is simply understanding what material is available and what the final piece needs to become.

Footage

What has been filmed, how it is organised and whether the technical quality is consistent enough for the intended result.

Brief

The purpose of the video, audience, key message and the versions that need to be delivered.

References

Any useful direction for pacing, tone, music, brand treatment or examples of the intended feel.

Handover

Files, deadlines and review stages are agreed before work starts so the project can move through post-production cleanly.

Finishing / Delivery

The final version should be ready to use.

The cut is only part of post-production. Finishing brings the different elements together so the delivered video feels consistent and works properly on the platform it was made for.

Colour

Balancing and finishing the image so shots sit together consistently and support the intended look.

Sound

Dialogue balance, music levels and practical clean-up where the source material allows it.

Titles

Simple titles, lower thirds, subtitles or branded text elements when they are part of the brief.

Exports

Final files prepared for the agreed platform, aspect ratio, resolution and duration.

Common questions

Before starting an editing project.

Can you edit footage I filmed myself?

Yes. Editing and post-production can be booked separately. The source material is reviewed first so the practical options are clear before the edit begins.

Can one video be delivered in several formats?

Yes, when the footage supports it. Horizontal, vertical and shorter versions can be planned from the same material, with reframing and pacing adjusted for each use.

Are colour and sound included?

Standard finishing can include colour balancing, sound level work and export preparation. More specialised restoration, audio mixing or VFX can be discussed if a project needs them.

How are revisions handled?

The review process is agreed with the brief. Feedback works best when it is consolidated into clear revision rounds rather than arriving as separate changes from multiple directions.

Need an edit
or post-production?

Share what footage you have, what needs to be made and where the final video will be used. From there, the post-production setup can be shaped around the actual material.
